Wrenching Your EF

Re: Wrenching Your EF
How hard is the del sol seat swap? My buddy has a crx with ripped up seats, but the local junkyard has a del sol with better seats (still with a few rips). He said he would rather have the del sol seats and reupholster them, but we didn't spend any time really considering it.
btw...I am converting my blue interior to black....black looks much better.

But the Del Sol seats are not as hard as everyone is trying to make it, you don't need to do a pan swap and all that jazz, you can get three bolt points in solid but the forth will need to be made and welded on. Mine where junk ill miss the SI seats but the del sol SI seats are lighter as well I found out.
I cant get pictures on here, what am I doing wrong? If I can get them up id do a write up for it.

Today I fired up my first Mini Me with ZC block . It was the most gratifying thing I have done in months . Started 3 times then Igniter went for a **** . Switched the ignitor for one from d16a6 starts no problem. Do I have to worry about the kind of octane I use now ? Also I don't have a timing cover on the top .The belt makes a lot of noise. Is this normal ?

Well, I starred at him today.
Not necessarily done today, but recently I:
I replace the wheels/tires with 16x7 wheels and 205/40 rubber
Added a ST rear sway bar, undercoated the entire car and each wheel well
POR15'd the remaining suspension pieces
Replaced all of the shock mount bushings, bump stop bushings
Replaced the rear wheel hubs
Replaced both outer tie rods
Replaced the radius rod bushings
Replaced both front wheel bearings with Koyo bearings; hubs cleaned up
Both lower ball joints, both front upper control arms, both front lower control arms
Both rear upper control arms and both rear lower (OEM) control arms
Replaced the master cylinder (EX), all four rubber brake lines with steel
Replaced all four rotors, brake pads and added four new calipers
Replaced the stock catalytic converter with a Magnaflow unit
Replaced the stock exhaust system with a SS Tanabe unit along with all new rubber hangers

Re: Wrenching Your EF
Color match it if you can! I think that would look better if it blends together.

lol^
I added a brand new oem radiator cap. I also picked up fresh oem clear (usdm) lenses for my bumper lights, and cleaned the housing before I put them on. OEM FTW!

Did some rust stoppn work and leak stoppn work. Found small rust spots hidden on the car (around the hood hinges under the old cracking sealant and in the roof guides.)
Found the sun roof drains clean the clogs and put one back into the drain hole to keep it out of my trunk!
Sprayed Rust stopper on internal rocker parts where the sun roof leak down into and in the spare wheel hole.
Sprayed my windshield wiper arms back again and stripped the dumb paint on the inside door handle covers
Got my driver Del Sol Si seat into place!
Did some sanding work, and Fixed the rear spoiler wiring and brake light.
Had a great day of work! Its coming along with my EF Si Hatch restore project!

Re: Wrenching Your EF
I put my scrarebird brackets and dc rear calipers and crx disc on my ef. Pretty easy . Bleeding the brakes with a **** master cylinder sucked. I had to take all the wheels off and bleed 1 litre through the system after replacing the MC. I noticed the brakes are better but different . Maybe there is a serious need for the 40/40 prop valve. I need some ebrake cables . Try finding these new in calgary.
For the crx i have stashed the following parts.
H2b kit (big shout to qsd for the duty hook up)
Dc half shaft
Stage 1 act clutch
H22a4 long block.
I am still unsure of what to expect when when i put that beast in.
I am not into cutting frame rails.
