Default painting trim?

Well I was wondering how many of you guys have painted your black trim... bumpers... lower panels. Also... how long has it lasted you. Any special prep work that needs to be done?

Only decent pic of my car for now... so I am whoring it out some more

I take the side moldings off the car first, then paint them, then put them back on...

i guess for the bumper you can use some masking tape

i got some spray cans at a kragen auto parts store...i think it was duplicolor if i remember correctly...it still looks great after a year

Dont wash or get the car wet at all for a while..Then clean the trim off real good with some alcohol and then spray the paint..I used duplicolor plastic trim paint..Its lasted through this terrible weather in NJ for a while now..

like this

My painter said he just sanded them sprayed adhesion promoter then primed and painted and clearcoated, I had everything painted I think it looks cleaner, I think he did a good job the car used to be a diff color you cant tell. Engine, interior, wiring, and all glass was removed to spray entire car
I think I might spray the grill openings black like the one silver one pictured above

Your car would look super clean if you painted the bottom silver and left the door/bumper trim black.

This was my first CRX (spray paint)

Thank you I will post pics when I get it done ETA 6 months. I just thought it would look nice since we have all seen Gray, Black, White, Yellow so I thought green might look pretty good. BRG looked good on all the Mini's old and new.

I would take a pic of the turbo.. interior.. nitrous... and other crap if I had a cam. Some are on the car... some not

I think painting them all will look fone. I just worry about it sticking

So far mine has lasted great for ~9 months... except the spots where I got a little bit of wax.

Even it it faded after a year, just go spend another $5 on some paint and spray them again.
