other dseries
ok, right now i have a b18b in my 91 si. im going to swap in a dseries and sell the car. would any other dseries besides a d16a6 go right in? the only thing i'd be worried about is all the vaccume lines and wire harness. would i be able to use a d16a6 wire harness on anyother d16/15? thanks

Re: other dseries (S13 slide)
The D16A6 will be the easiest drop-in since it was meant for your car. The only improvements over the A6, would be the D15B7, the D16Y8/Y7... With the Y8 you'd have to wire-up VTEC. I didn't mention the Z6 because of the distributor issues.
But in reality, you can swap ANY d-series into the CRX chassis. It just depends on what you want, and how much effort/money you want to put into it. I'm guessing since you want to sell the car, you don't want to spend too much. In this case, you might be best off investing in a SOHC ZC - it's identicle to the A6 except for a more aggressive cam. All in all, a good replacement A6.

Re: other dseries (MrTodd)
yeah but im on a tight buget, thats why im selling the car. and the ls im going to keep and build up some more later in the future. i just need something to have the car running! i see D15's in my are go for pennies. so aslong as its multi port motor my wireharness will plug up? i know some motors have sencors that others dont, but i can just leave them unpluged. thanks

What model CRX? DX, SI, HF? Just get a motor that came in that car so you won't have to deal with any other hassle when you sell it. If you do choose to put in another D series motor that is from 92 and up, use the 89-91 trannies because I don't think the others will bolt up to the mount points. Wiring up vtec in a single cam is easy, just a wire that needs 12V at a certain RPM and that is it. Everything (considering you have stock wiring) should plug up since the motor was ment for the car.
