Has This Ever Happened To You?
So I got pulled over for peeling out shifting into second gear is what the chp officer told me. I know that I did not peal out when I shifted and I told him that. So he made me pop my hood then tryed to tell me my intake was not 50 state legal. When the carb legal sticker was there the whole time. So he wrote me a ticket and I called the company and they confirmed that it is 50 states legal. So now I have to go to the state ref which is going to cost me some money and then they just sent me a manditory court appearance letter. I called to see what it is about and they told me for air polution. Has anyone else been wrote a false ticket? If so what did you do to get it all ficked again? Like your money back you had to spend on the state ref and such because technically until I go to the state ref and pass smog my rex isnt legal to drive. Thanks Ryan.

jeeze, a cop tells you to pop your hood, thats odd, well around here anyways.
They dont even ask for a E-test around here unless theres blue smoke puffing out the tail pipe.
Just go to court to fight it and tell them it is 50 state legal and carb legal and make sure you have proof, like a add from the company or something, and the case will get thrown out.

In the Queens-Brooklyn area cops pop hoods looking at the vin # on the engine and if you don't have the proper papers for it,your getting towed and arrested. That only happens once in awhile, but it did happen to my friend(engine wasn't stolen but he didn't have his papers)

I would'nt even bother fighting the ticket if its a 10dollar "fix it ticket", if its anymore than that, I would try to fight it, but don't expect to win even though you have the carb sticker or whatever... Are you willing to take the chance that they do let you get away with the intake ticket but give you tickets for other things, ie clear corners, exhaust too loud, car too low ETC ETC ETC!
easiest way to avoid a big headache is just put your stock box back in, go into court and beg forgiveness and pay whatever small fee they have and go home and put your intake back in
And advice from people who don't know how bad cali emissions is.... well you get the idea...
who busted you? bike cop? hwy patrol? what city?
