Default DPFI Running rich

Any ideas why a dpfi would be running rich? The smell of gas come in through the vents when I have the AC on and I've been driving a while and I've also noticed the smell of gasoline coming out of the muffler.

Not sure if this helps but the needle on the temp gauge seems a bit low. It only comes up a 3rd of the way when I'm used to seeing civic gauges just below half.

1988 civic 4dr lx automatic.

I had a similar problem a long while back. Turned out to be the fuel pressure regulator. I replaced it, along with the gasket, and it got rid of the problem.

Thanks for the reply. I will test it to see if it's working correctly.

Turns out my charcoal canister was cracked. I jb welded the sucker and i haven't had any fumes. Not in my exhaust either. Is that normal?
