Coolant Temp not reaching operationg temp/Fans Stuck ON
I've searched, troubleshooted, and messed with this thing far enough. I need Help. Please.
The Rundown - 91 Civic Si with a D16z6 Obd1 Conversion swap chipped P28
The Problem - Coolant Temp Guage, takes awhile to warm up, and WHEN it finally does, It's maybe 1/8-1/4 of the half way (not normal operating).
Car seems to run rich, bogs at low rpm, good midrange, vtec has zero power.
NO CEL's
Heater works Excellent
Radiator fan ALWAYS RUNS when motor is on. Does not cycle at all.
What I've done: Pulled Engine Temp Sensor, lightly sanded & cleaned it
Pulled Guage sending unit, light sanded & cleaned it
Put in new Thermostat & Seal
Flushed Coolant, Let it bleed for at least a good 20-30 (no more bubbles)
I'm truly stuck, pleaseee Help. Thanks

Re: Coolant Temp not reaching operationg temp/Fans Stuck ON
subscribing bump. im having the same problem my car will reach temp but it takes like 15 minutes of driving and until its warm it runs retarded, running up my gas bill!
when you say your fan stays on do you mean your large fan or the secondary. my large fan stays on all the time as well, i didnt know if that was normal.

No AC, only one fan.
-It comes on immediately and runs continuously.
I'm thinking the coolant temp sensor & sending unit are jacked.. but no CEL's and I cleaned them both. anybody else have issues like this?

try changing out the coolant switch, this controls the fan. once it reachs temp it conects the circut. check with ohm meter for sure resaults

This is the one on the BACK of the block correct, under the intake mani..?
Also, the temp never reaches 'full' operating temp.. but the guage works. could the sensor itself still be bad..? I took it out and cleaned it..

if the fan is not cycling it will not reach temp. start it up and unplug the fan switch. I have changed them for not coming on, but never sticking on.
If you wanna check..
"
# Meter should indicate continuity when temperature reaches 190-203°F.
# Allow sensor to cool while observing meter. Meter should indicate no continuity as temperature drops below approximately 182-188°F.
