Default Overheating problems...

Ok here's what my car is doing, and what I know IS working as far as the cooling system goes...when driving with the a/c on, in HOT weather(takes longer to do it at night or when it's cooler) my car does fine temp. wise for about 15-20 minutes of stop and go city driving, then the temp. gauge starts to go up, shut the a/c off, it goes down again. Now, from what I can assess, both fans are working although the condenser fan kicks off every once and a while...but at least I've never seen it do it, maybe it happens while I'm driving...the thermostat has been replaced, and there are no coolant leaks to my knowledge, the a/c cycles on and off like it's supposed to, and it blows ice cold...any ideas? Please help it's hot as f*** out here and I can't drive around for very long during the day...

Is your radiator in good shape? Are the fins ok and there is no debris in them?

How old is the coolant?

no I didn't really 'flush' the system, but I wouldn't imagine it would make it do this so spurratically...and yes the temp goes up more than normal
