Re: California bar sticker... (XEF-8X)
You wont pass if you have a jdm motor, unless the referree is ignorant and didnt know that it is. In order to get a BAR sticker, your new motor has to be the same year or newer. There are a lot of referree stations around, just check your local dmv and ask for a list. Passing is quite difficult because you need to pass visual inspection along with emissions. Visual means that all that is attached originally to the motor you're getting has to be on your car, like stock airbox, sensors etc. and if its an obd1 or 2 motor, you have to run it the same way...so you need to convert your wiring and use ecu that came with the donor car. These are all technical rules but there are ways around it. I passed running nonobd on my obd2 motor with a jdm itr header (under heatshield) because the ref didnt know any better. just my luck.

EF_LSvtec: i have a JDM B18c and the ref that did my car wasnt ignorant...he acutally educated me with a full 3 page print out when i played dumb about the motor...then he said "we use to not take JDM motors but now we do if everything is hooked up"

Re: California bar sticker...
that sticker looks familiar. anyways, i've seen a sticker like that on a '88 h/b with jdm gsr motor. it's possible for a jdm motor to pass in cali. skyline college is probably a fair place to get it done, yet stricted, but if you could talk, it'll be to your advantage. the main purpose is to pass smog.

You should pass like the guy said, everything stock and hooked up no loose wires or unplugged, CAT and stock intake you should be fine, O and if the motor is same year or newer than your car...

Re: California bar sticker... (tadeh)
test only smogs suck.... for a JDM b16a to pass i hear you would have to switch from OBD0 to OBD1 to duplicate the setup on the Del Sol b16a

Re: California bar sticker... (egbomx)
they will pass JDM motors. They dont really care if it is jdm or not, they only care if the swap has been done correctly (not ghetto rigged) , and all the smog equipment is working. i passed my jdm gsr in southern cali, so its definitely possible. you just have to do your homework.

Re: California bar sticker... (Noahk)
i just went to the acura dealership and asked them for a print up that shows the p72 is for a 94-95 interga gsr...they were ignorant to what ecu i was suppose to be running...i dont know why since i heard they had every diagram possible on cd-rom...
...and as far as the 3 page printout for the motors and corrisponding vehicles...no i dont have that...its just something they (smog refs) showed me in an attempt to educate my dumb ***..they never gave me a copy...u could probably request one from them
