for boost d series is the best you can get, they wont make as much power as a b series but they will last longer. Do not boost a stock d series whatever you do. Too many people do this and complain when their engine blows up. I would say start with a d16a6 or a d16y8, And get pistons, rods, a nice camshaft, a decent head gasket and head studs

Re: best swap for crx
all depends on how much money you have to spend. if money isnt a problem build a high boost b18 or build a k20, if money is kinda tight then boost a d16.

it really does come down to money. sure, i'd like to build a stroked out k24 and turbo into my CRX Si. and AWD while i'm at it. why not? oh yea, this thing called money. lol
you'll just have to buy new wiring harnesses and/or shift linkages and cables and stuff

Re: best swap for crx
You have to be realistic. The best bang for the money has to be a stock turbo D series.
I had this Y7 set up for over a year with just under $700 spent( not counting the engine). I Kept it at 7 psi and tuned right. Never a single issue with it. My only problem was when the car got stolen and they took my turbo set up
Buckets and buckets of fun.

My buddy did an A6 turbo with a tune not pushing over 15 lbs and it lasted until his dad decided he wanted to make it quieter. So he went to the muffler shop and got a 2.25 in exhaust with a cat on it and it built too much back pressure and blew it. Car kept up with a stock xjr through most of 3rd.
