Default ac question

im going to put my ac back into my car but what i wanted to know is that to refill the freon gas again can i just go and buy those freon kits they sell in autozone or do i have to take it to someone to do it anybody know about this

You could convert to 134a, buy the kit @ auto store, or you could say with r12 and take it to the shop.

If you want it to work right take it to a shop so they can actually use the gauges and ac machine to properly pull a vacuum on the system to get out any excess air or water, just putting it back to together yourself w/ autozone stuff will likely lead to premature failure of parts that you will have to have to have diagnosed at a shop anyway. I'm a mechanic and trust me, save yourself the headache and just let the pros handle it for you with the right equipment and a guarantee to back it all up

or you can get r12 online. make sure to use compressor oil.
