Default zex nitrous

I'm thinking of buying the the smart nitrous system for my 99 civic ex. I have an AEM cold air. dc 4-2-1 header. apex n1 cat-back. and an apexi v-afc. is it a good idea? If anyone has any doubt about my decision plz reply?

Fuel rail isn't necessary, don't retard your timing until you go over a 55shot. You don't need new injectors either...until you decide how much you're going to run. I've been running a 65 on my si for about six months now, I spray almost every day. No retarded timing...just an AEM fpr, CAI.

You dont really need a fuel rail, or injectors yet. But if you want a higher shot then you would need a new fuel pump first, then rail and injectors down the line. the zex kit for your car would comes with 55,65, and 75 shot kits. I personally wouldnt run over a 65 shot on a stock sohc motor. I have also heard about sohc clutches slipping due to the nitrous.
So you would be fine if you wanted to get the zex. They say to use colder plugs and retard your timing if you go above a 55 shot.
I am running a 65 shot on my b18c, but i need a new fuel pump because the stock civic one isnt cutting it. I am purposed running a larger fuel jet until i get a new fuel pump, cause i dont wanna run lean. hope this helps. later

55 shot on a similar setup, with stock timing, 92 octane (a must), colder plugs turned my NA 16.8 into a 14.85. Zex is the best nitrous kit available for 55-75 shot range.

Here are some pics of my freinds focus that was running a nx kit. ran fine for 6 months, bumped it up to the 75 shot last night at the track...

I know that there are people that run N2O with no problems but is it worth it when somthing goes wrong?

its better to have as much fuel as possible. thats how N20 cars break so fast, lack of fuel!

i did it and i had it on my 2000 civic ex.
no problems, just keep a close eye on your spark plugs, check for detonation after every run until you get your fuel and timing right.
After that you can just change your plugs after every 2 bottles.
I ran the 55 shot and had a lotta fun w/ it.
I couldn't drive when i had it, and plus i always sprayed off the line so i never got any traction. Best time was 15.5 should have gotten 15.0 or 14.9 honestly. I had no skills at the track and it was my first time w/ nitrous and at the track.
Full interior on 17 konig rims.

Thats what happens when a wet shot backfires and the intake blows off. Looks like everything caught fire though

that's an oddity, everybody knows N2O is not flammable. It didn't CAUSE the fire, but may have fed it quite well though. I run a B18C5 with a 75 shot in a 00 coupe, and have never, ever, had anything go as horribly wrong as that. I did blow the jet out of the line and spray my engine compartment once, but it was all Frosty the Snowman under my hood, no big booming flames...

Yeah, but the wet kit adds the fuel and nitrous to one nozzle in the intake pipe(unless direct port). If the fuel puddles in the intake pipe and gets hot enough, bam intake backfire . Thats the worst I have seen yet.
