Z Max? Is it really like putting a new engine in your car?
I remember seeing that stuff on an infomercial before and there was some guy with a van that needed a new engine and magically he poured some z max in there and no longer needed the engine!!!
I seen it at the store for like 39.99 and was wondering if anyone has ever tried that stuff before?

it basically tricks the engine into restoring compression, but you don't *really* have that compression back. i used it in my high mileage (190k BEAT ON miles) '90 DX, and it actually did wonders. I personally wouldn't use it on a 'performance' engine just cuz it's like a bunch of glop...haha.
edit: on come the flames 'how can you trick the engine into restoring compression?'

i usually say some of that stuff works, not in actually gaining newfound power, but actually just getting back what you lost in the first place

How can you trick the engine into restoring compression?
Also, what did it actually do to your car?

redman...well, it's not REALLY 'tricking'...i guess it's really there because it wills how up on a compression test. but it's not a real fix. it just sorta fills imperfections, seals the rings a lil better if they're beat etc. i dunno how long it would really last or anything. on my DX like sparkz said you just gain back what you lost in the first place...it's basically a restorer, but not a substitute for a decent rebuild. it's like that engine restorer stuff that you see in SS and other magazines that promises to restore engine compression, and in turn, restore lost power.
