Default Y8 or Z6????

hi guys i was looking for your opinions....which would you get Y8 or Z6 if they were the same price and about the same mileage??.......i'm probly looking to turbo down the road. thanks

i have a 95 cx Candian model

I would go with the Y8 since it has a stronger tranny. I'll probably get this backwards, but the Y8 has steel shift forks and the Z6 has aluminum shift forks.

Also doesn't hurt that the Y8 is newer.

go with the z6 if your going to be running it stock. the z6 head flows better than the y8. and sensor your going to be putting it in an obd1 car use the z6. much easyer. cause it was designed for that year.

z6 z6 z6 z6...uhhhh z6 hahah. obd1 is easier to tune, z6 head flows better....yada yada...im pretty sure this is covered in other threads too

good point, but that isnt enough reason to get it. Y8 has better flowing manifolds, smaller combustion chambers, and stronger trannys. I'd get the Z6 cuz its cheaper and so i dont have to worry about the obd2 conversion bullshit

true. the y8 manifold can be swapped to the z6 head, which combines the best of flow from both heads. the y8 does have better cylendar design which helps prevent against detonation..something about quench areas but im not exactly sure what its called..

but yeah, z6 head Y8 IM for sure
