Default y8 swap into a 1992 hatch, wire harness questions

I picked up a y8 for my 1992 hatch, and I'm new to the swaping.

The hatch use to have a OBD1 b16 in it, and so that is what the harness was made for. So I took it out of the car and now I'm trying to attach it to my d16y8 to install it in the hatch. However some of the plugs are diffrent, the fuel injector plugs, dizzy, and a few others seem to be diffrent.

Am I crazy or is this true? If so what hoops am I going to have to jump though to get this harness together, to work for the civic?

I took some photo's to help with my case, H-T swap pro's please help!

This is the alternator plug, the large one is obd1 the smaller obd2.

Fule injector pugs, obd1 is gray and obd2 is blue.

And a garage shot, everyone likes those

Any SOHC wiring harness ( Obv with VTEC) would work fine, for example, My good friend is running a D16Y7(obd2) in his CX hatch (obd1), using the factory CX harness. All the plugs matched up fine.

As for the plugs being different, Im not 100% sure on this, but there may be differences in SOHC harness's, vs DOHC harnesses, dont take me 100% on that, im not totally sure on that.

So should I cut the obd1 plugs that don't fit and replace them with obd2?

I'd swap over all the obd1 components instead of hack up a wiring harness. Just reuse the injectors that were on the b16 and find an obd1 d series dizzy.

Buyying the correct harness is probably your only option, unless you can find someone local that is a wiz at re-wiring harnesses and doing OBD conversions

yeah i used my orignal OBDI starter and alt
prices for obd1 SOHC stuff are very cheap!!
alt.......$40-60
starter.....$30-50
OBD1 wire harness NON VTEC if needed.....$50-70
Custom vtec wire harnes.....$25

Does the motor have a starter and alt? If it does, i would custom make a harness since it seems like you have all the plugs?

here is a really good write-up by demOnkid1
dizzy harness
