Default Y7 with Y8 intake

friend has a 98 civic EX with a Y7 motor swap due to high miles. The motor has a Y8 intake manifold on it and still has the Y8 ECU in the car so it runs like scat. he wants me to make sure before he buys the Y7 ECU that even though the car has a Y8 intake manifold the ECU will work with it

well if you use the y8 ecu the iacv will work but the fuell maps will be all of espicially in high rpms

and if you use the y7 ecu the iacv wont work at all....which means when you turn the a/c on the car might stall. and the maps will be closer but still not perfect because you changed the whole shape of the manifold. just get a y7 manifold from the junk yard and pay someone to put it on. thats the only way your gonna get your drivability back

why not just get a OEM ecu for the y7 and keep running the y8 mani? thats what i was planning on doing with my y7 instead of running the down draft intake mani

well according to freakasis then the iacv wont work at all... unless their is a way to make it work... isent their a way to change the iacv from a 2 wire to 3 wire to make it work or can you only do a 3 wire to 2 wire?

someone correct me if i'm wrong but when i looked around a little when i wanted to to a y8 intake mani to y7 intake mani i never read anything on having to change the iacv it was just reusing the fuel rail and such.

"If you plan to keep the Y7 computer, it's easiest to use a Y8 auto manifold and t/b since the IACV setup is the same. Of course the 5-speed manifold setup works fine too, you just need to block off the IACV opening on the back and swap the throttle rotor & spring over to your Y7 t/b."
