i put the right amount of oil in my b18c1 and no oil on dipstick. there are no oil leaks on the ground or anywhere else. a few times i have gone out and started up my car and started to move then it began to run rough and shake kinda and turns off. when i start it back up its rough as hell then just cuts off. before when it has done this i added oil until i saw it on the dipstick then started it and let it run a while to let oil circulate and ran fine. this is the third time it has done this in the past 2 or 3 months since i had it.

if you changed the oil .....if you don't feel up the filter it will read different untill its filled but i don't know about nothing whats you idea of the right amount

wrong dipstick maybe.. idk thats a weird one.. hpow many quarts do u put in till it runs right..

it requires about 4.25 quarts. as for how much i have to add it varies.

U sure and positive that you have the right dipstick? you check the oil level on a flat leveled surface right? not on a hill or on jackstands or whatever....just curious.

nah im know what im doin. the dipstick crossed my mind but its the dipstick that was in it when i bought it so idk. but the running rough then cutting off...that's what gets me.

ive ran handheld diagnostics before this started happening but the thing is the cel doesnt come on until after i drive a bit. and what's more strange is that it runs like **** until the cel comes on then does ok. again it did this before i had all these other probs. but no codes are coming up since for some reason they wont check it with the engine running, and the cel only comes on after driving a bit so idk.

the oil level is fine but the car will crank now but wont start. maybe crank position sensor?

u dont need the crank position sensor

i checked the codes using the wire trick and it says its the MAP sensor and crank position sensor.
