oil spewing out
so today was a day for an oil change..and it ended real shitty
my garage has oil drips on it...my car has been leaking oil but i figured it was just my transmission...its going to be replaced soon anyway...but i was wrong
so i go get my mobil 5000clean mile oil...10w30..and an STP filter...the filter is the right one i looked it up in the book
now i have done oil changes on my car before..so this isnt a first for me
i change my oil and filter....and start the car..and oil spews out all from around the oil filter area
i thought it was a bad filter..so i drain oil, i put the old one on, refill and start up again. same problem oil is spewing out
at this point im worried. so i drain again, put another new filter on...refill and start it up...same problem
no my car has been leaking some oil from somewhere for a while...its towards the oil filter..the oil is on the transmission and on the engine mounts and if u shine light u can see some oil
i know this is kinda confusing...im confused myself and im freaking out..anyone know what could cause this?

could it also be a seal from an old filter stuck on the car and the new filter has another seal..so 2 rubber seals..would that cause a leak as well?

the oil filter has a gasket around it and maybe there is one stuck to your motor from the last filter. It happened to me a few months ago. i problee did four oil changes in one day then i figured it out because my first oil filter was missing a gasket which was stuck to the motor

yea i understand what you guys are saying..but here is what confuses me
i took my old filter that i had on before..it was a FRAM..and i put that back onto the car
now since its an old filter, that means there is no rubber seal on it since its stuck to the motor..right?
i put the old filter on, fired her up, and same thing happened, it started to spew out...is it because the seal is now all screwed up or something? i really hope its just a stupid seal problem cuz i have no money for fixing this **** lol.
