Default WTF!!! engine out, timing belt prb....

i have a d16y8 thats sitting in my garage and im trying to replace the timing belt and its being a bitch, ive researched on here forever on how to get it off.. the damn crank pulley will not do a damn thing, ive tried impact and everything else...any suggestions....thanx

stick big screwdriver in flywheel to keep it from moving, then use impact gun.

i use a impact gun and nothing moves at all....my grandpa said to heat the bolt up and try to get it off that way so i will try..

ok i got the SOB off, and now im trying to pull off the belt, my grandpa said not to loosen the tensior, but in the manuel it says to loosen the tensior..so idk what to do...is their anyway other to take it off?? maybe slipping the belt off

cut it off. your replacing it anyways. have difficulties putting the new one on, not talking the old one off.

haha cut it, no way, check this out..im a scammer..i bought a timing belt from auto zone yesterday so im going to take this one off, put new one on, then take old one back say i want a refund and bitch about it, and get back my $52.49.. greaT huh??

hahaha i used to work at autozone as a assistant manager, other workers would always refynd things and not look in the box, then when i go to verify the returns and find old parts in the boxes i would yell at them!!

that's what a scammer gets...

1. you should NEVER heat a bolt, good way to rip it right off.
2. loosen the tensioner.

I've had experience with ripping hot bolts in two (maybe it's just because i'm HUGE). As a mechanic he likely had a lot of tools at his disposal to rectify a problem had it occured. In my driveway, i'm SOL when I rip one in half, just trying to look out for ya...
