Default wrong about tps

hey everyone
i posted on here a few months ago, got some suggestions and am asking if anyone has any more ideas to help me (:

my car (95 civic lx w/ a d16y7) has been reving up and down.

everyone thought it was my tps sensor. i switched it out w/ an old one (and it fixed it visually as the car didnt rev anymore) but it still didnt work w/ the ecu as i had a code 7 (tps) and i was failing emmissions cause it was in safe mode.

soo i ordered yet a 3rd one, this time on ebay for 20 bucks.

i get it and the car goes back to reving hi and low.

now i talk to a freind and hes got the same problem.
im not sure if it needs a reset (already done the ecu) or what?

if anyone knows how to get rid of this please help

thanks in advance.

if its the same revving as my car (around 1100 jumping to 1800 and back down over and oveR) itll be one of your pistons not firing...

for some reason my 4th cylinder isnt firing.. could be plugs, could be spark, could be distributor...

for me to find out which one it was i turned the car on.. when it started idling up and down i started pulling out each spark plug wire one by one... it turned out to be first one i pulled (farthest from the distributor)...

after a while of it revving like this though it goes away (i assume it finally starts combusting

specific symptoms:
car turns on.. its cold.. it idles high around 1500.. i touch the gas it jumps to 2000ish and slwoly goes down to 1600 or 1700.. touch gas it jumps up to like 2300... no higher....
car warms up a lil.. idle starts going crazy (1100 to 1800ish... up and down up and down...)
after about 5 mins or so idle drops to 700 car runs fine... its very embarassing

anywyas.. while testing the plugs... when i removed working plugs (while idle was crazy) the car would bog but still idle funny... when i removed the bad plug the car would drop to normal rev.... i slowly start sliding the plug back in and the idle starts going up too.. i connect the plug and it idles funny again..

maybe you could give it a shot too
just DONT TOUCH THE SPARK lol
u can see it jumping from the plug to the valve cover when sliding the plug up and down listening to the revs go up and down heh

FYI.. d16z6 here.. so were pretty much in the same ballpark

(cough) calibrate ... err shet didnt know i had too (: any info in this area would help immensly (:

but the manifold is off of a 95 lx engine... only thing that is d16y7 is the long block.. all accessories are 95.

and im pretty sure my pistons are firing i just put on a new dist cap and plugs 5 weeks ago... but will check tonight.

and finally my cel codes are done.. when i switched out my latest tps they went away.

ohh btw the revving is inbetween 1500 and 2500 ish.... its actually alittle hard to hold her in place with brakes on so this is dangerous at stop lights...(: the hand brake doesnt hold at all it only revs in park and sitting at stop light idling for a minute

thanks again in advance guys

aggggggg *ripping hair out* ok i got my tps callibrated its at .5 and 4.46 open.

messing w/ the idle i can get her to rev only from 900-1500 rpm now : /
but while im at a stop light my car jumps forward moving a few inches/ jump
this i would guess is dangerous.

pls w/ any more idea help me : ( no ecu codes still

and failed emmissions misserably again... 3400 nox out of 1400 allowed.... and co2 failed now as well im 2x worse now than when my tps was broken and i was driving in safe mode

could a bad ecu make it rev up and down?

i did replace the ecu w/ honda .5-1 yr ago, i wouldnt suspect this would be the problem but i cant think of anything else.

could a bad tps or o2 sensor fry a ecu ?
