My problem is my 94 honda ex d16 vtec head with d15 block isn't revving all the way and doesn't feel like theirs much power to it. I bought the car for $100 and the engine was torn apart so i thought $100 dollars was good price and all i had to do was put it together, but when i got it together it was knocking bad then a rod shot out the side so i had a d15 block that i pulled out of a 95 dx with about 140k miles, i put everything together and put it in my civic but now its just not revving past 5k so i'm wondering if the vtec would cause a problem like that. I also have two ecu, one is p06 and the other is a p07 they both only let me rev to 5k. I don't get a cel light on the p06 but i do on the p07 and its the o2 sensor. And when i first start the car and try to go it seems to dies so most of the time i have to slowly push on the gas to get it moving some, any idea why it's doing that? Give me suggestions on what i can do to fix it please.

So out of all that, I got...

You have a vtec head on your non vtec block? Did you remove the oil plug from the block prior to installing the head? Is your timing correct?

Why don't you run a P28?

I don't have one or the money for one right now, when i bought the car the dude gave me the p07 and he said it was tuned so i don't know maybe he wanted to keep the p28 for his civic's. and would not pulling that oil jet out cause the it not revving over 5k?

Try swapping some of your sensors.. maybe tps and map is on backwards?

the tps and map sensors are not backwards, the throttle body is from a d15 civic dx, some of the parts i had to take from the d15 and put it on my 94 ex d16 like the throttle body, d15 distributor internals (because the d16's went bad) d15 injectors, i think thats about it

Find and install a d16z6 distributor. Then tell me what happens.
