Default Worn clutch? (2000 Civic EX

Im constantly concerned if my car is okay. One thing that has been making me feel worried is my clutch. What are some symptoms of a worn clutch? Sometimes when driving, at around 2k-3k, you can hear a whining, squealing sound. When I shift, it doesnt always feel like its smooth engagement, like I had 2 years ago.

I like to have fun in my car, so she has seen high rpms from time to time. Im certain that this has resulted in my clutches life being cut short. Im trying to plan out what I need, and what I can get to start to work on my car. I dont wanna **** money into looks or other performance, and have my clutch quit on me.

Side note: My shifter doesnt always feel as fluid as before. New shift bushings? Or maybe transmission fluid? (not a very educated car person. So bare with me).

Thanks for any help!

My car (same as yours) has always done this, and there's also some chatter at launch. I brought it in under warantee, but there wasn't much they could do about it. 130K on the clock, and it's still going strong. You'll know it's bad when it starts slipping.

I bounce off the rev limiter daily. Slipping and riding the clutch at launch and when shifting is what wears the clutch. Once it's fully engaged (pedal is out) there's nothing to really worry about.

Yes, I do mine every three or four oil changes (15,000 - 30,000mi; 30,000 is factory recommendation) and you can immediately feel the difference.

My mom's car had 250K on it, never changed the fluid, and you could barely shift it. Changed the fluid, and it was like new again.
