Default 2000 Civic EX clutch grabbing at top pedal mean clutch is going???

Just curious cuz it dont slip it just grabs high. Was like that when I got it a few months ago. I read you can adjust the pedal or when it engages. Is this easy and anyone advise this??? thanks

Usually when it starts grabbing high like that, it's getting worn, BUT, if it's not slipping, I wouldn't worry about it. The way I usually test a clutch is by shifting very fast or power shifting at redline, if it slips a little going to the next gear, it's a little weak, no slippage, no problems.

On a side note, if your clutch is getting weak, usually you can nurse it for a pretty long time if your not driving aggressivly.

not to thread jack but if you shift at redline say from 3rd to 4th and it slips for about 3-4 seconds... its shot?

its definitely not slipping. what i need to know is if i can adjust where the clutch engages or at least make the pedal lower.

Take the pin out that connects the pedal to the master cylinder under the dash. You can loosen the jam nut and shorten the rod. That'll bring the pedal down.

Look at where the clutch master cly fork attaches via a pin to the clutch pedal assembly. There's a 12 mm nut (I think) to loosen on that fork rod. You can adjust it there.

On my Y7, my girlfriend's Y8, and my B18B, the clutch has always let out at the top, even with a new clutch. I like it, I don't have to pound the pedal to shift.
