Default Wiring on a 96 Civic LX sedan (corners)

I have a 1996 Civic LX sedan. (EJ6, D16Y7)
My dome light is not coming on when I open the doors. Its on position lights, its off position has the light off, but the middle position has the light still not coming on. I took a logic probe to the plunger in the door. The ground is good, but no voltage to the plunger, so the problem is downstream. Is there a fuse for this i can check? I dont know where to trace the wires. Anyone got a Helms book they can check for me?

Question 2. There is an article at JDMfan that tells how to make a civic Si drive with no corners. There are 7 wire heads going into a plug on the steering column, and it says to swap 2 wires into where they go. I did this to mine. Heres what happened:
OEM: lights off, click once, corners on and dash lit, click again and headlights on. pull back to activate high beams.
After wire swap: lights off, click once, just dash lit, click again headlights on. So its the same except that my corner lights arent running except for as blinkers. Thats what I wanted, but when i click the high beams to come on, the dash turns off (bad).
I want to know how I can have my blinkers be just blinkers and not run with the headlights. I don't want to get a 1 filament bulb, and i dont want to cut any wires so my car can be converted back to OEM specs. If anyoen has a diagram, can you tell me what wire in the steering column i can pull out to have the blinkers just be blinkers and not be running lights?

The 96-98 Civics will have a dome light switch failure IF you remove the original head unit/radio. The LX and EX models were pre-wired for keyless entry and the anti theft system also have some control over the dome light. If you remove the OEM head unit (has two big plugs), the stereo plug will have a harness to the new stereo while the smaller plughead for the anti-theft is just left unplugged. You need to either cut or splice two wires going into that plug head, or use a jumper wire and wrap it with something so it won't short out (electrical tape, a chunk or rubber, anything you want.) I'll edit later with the color of the two wires as I don't remember at the moment.

Yes this is an old bump but better to have an answer to an old question that a new thread asking the same question with no answer.

you can also test using these wire colors. that would be the best way to diagnose the issue.
