Will NGK blue plug wires from B18B1 fit on a D16Y7?
Yo all. I gotz a question. My girl has an 01' LS but is about to start driving the 97 EK Hatch she just picked up. Naturally I wanna do a tune-up on her hatch right quick and i wanna kno if I kan take the $70 NGK Blue spark plug wires off her B18B1 in her LS and use them for her Hatch's D16Y7??? The NGK Blues are less than 5,000 miles / 1 Year Old.

Yes. D and B-series engines have essentially identical ignition systems. Everything electronic in the distributor is interchangeable with a D-series, wire resistance should be about the same. Btw, if the wires on the D-series are original honda/sumimoto wires they'll probably work better than the NGK wires anyway. (NGK wires are great wires, but even they aren't quite as good as 15 year old original honda wires)

I don't think they are interchangeable, but go ahead and check.
Just get some Accel wires off eBay. They're ricey looking, big fat wires, but they're pretty cheap.

The clips on each end are identical but the seal on the valve cover is a different size. So yes they work, but personally I wouldn't run them.

if you try to run it that way and you get a misfire then it's a waste because you'll end up doing more damage than it's worth. If money is that tight then try it.

Anyone know the resistance spec of plug wires for a D16Y7? Im just gonna check the resistance of the wires on her d16 now and see if theyre in spec.

For the record, B series plug wires dont fit D series motors its a real sketchy fit and it feels like the plug wire doesnt completely fit on the plug or over the plug hole properly.
