Check your shift linkage boot to see if it's bunched up. Sometimes that will make the tranny spit the gears out of position.

the boot right where the shifter is or the boot that goes right over where you hook up the linkage to the tranny

Boot that covers up the shift linkage pin right where the linkage connects to the tranny.

That boot is not strong enough to make the linkage pull out of gear. The trany is bad. A few different reasons that make it do that though. If the imput shaft bearing(the one that holds the shaft goes bad) wobbles, the car will pop out of gear. If gear teeth or collars go bad, they also let the gear pop out.

Is their fluid in the tranny???? When i had my D16 an axle broke and popped a dime sized hole in my trans. Well about a week later i would be driving and the damn thing kept popping out of gear. I checked the tranny fluid and there was none. So, i patched the tranny up, filled it, and it was fine. Just a thought.......

Transmission is bad, the only thing to do is hold it in gear until it gets above 3000 rpms and it will stay in. After a while, all of your gears will be like that.

Yeah guys, I'm really reaching on this one.

I have known 2 different poeple who have had their trannies spit out of gear and what was the culprit?

Bunched up shifter linkage boot.

I just try to attack the simpler things before I jump out and say that the most expensive thing possible is bad.

Well, since you have NO boot at all then I'd say check the fluid next because people sometimes forget to fill it back up.

Then if you have full fluid, then I'd start to worry about the clutch and/or internal tranny problems.
