why is my valve cover hitting my hood
I have a 96 hatch with a ls swap in it and the corner of the valve cover hits the hood. I'm not sure what motor mounts were used. i've heard u have to cut about an inch off over the cam gears. just wasnt sure

No. This should not hit the hood. It should come very close, but not hit. Either your hood is messed up, or there is something wrong with your mounts.

Re: why is my valve cover hitting my hood (2dxtreme96)
i believe they are the oem d16 motor mounts but they are oem what mounts they are i'm not sure. Something seemed weird to me b/c the motor is over to the right to far or so it seems. there is no room the crank pulley is like an inch from the body. my hood has like a 2 inch dint where they owner b4 me swaped the ls and just slammed the hood until it would shut

They cant all be stock d16 mounts.
Do you have a stock hood or aftermarket carbon fiber?
My brothers motor didnt rub on the stock hood, but did on his CF hood.

D16? I thought u were sposed to use the B18b mounts for that? And if anything, you can always grind it down (the VC), I'm sure it's not off by too much...or see if the hood has the reinforcement bars into it (like most OEM hoods) and grind that down a bit, either way it'll fit alright

He's got an EK, so his tranny mount, timing belt mount and driver side fluid filled mount can be from the D16.
