where to put chains when lifting a B series motor
im trying to put a b motor in my eg hatch. Where are you guys hooking up the chains at? My friend and I have tried but the motor keeps tilting backwards. ive searched but i was wondering does anyone have pics or an illustration where you put the chains at. thanks. i need to finish this is my daily driver.

Do you have a load leveller? That would help to balance the motor.
As far as chain location, I put one on each corner of the motor. There should be holes in the head for spare bolts to go, and I attach the chains there.

you can also wrap a chain/rope around the intake manifold to keep it from tilting back. Just be careful not to smash anything, and you can put a bar between the chain/rope to keep it from squezzing to hard on anything

when you pull it you have (or i've always) tilted the transmission side down
and when i drop it in, i drop it tranny side further down then the opposite... and when it's all below the mount i'll put in the driver side mount, then lift the tranny up to level it.
this is the easiest way i've found in doing it by myself.
