Default when to sleeve

i'm sure this has been ask tons but i can't find anything. at what point do you need to use the darton sleeves on a b18c block? i want my car to keep up with my truck. so i will be putting a turbo on it. going with stock crank. not sure on pistons and rods yet. i need to do some searching on that. i will be running my b16a head on the gsr block. i don't have the gsr head anymore. i would like 400+ i figure if i'm going to build it i might as well do it right. just not sure when the stock sleeves are a liability.

thanks,

Thats a good question. I can't say I know when you should sleeve, but the 400+ hp LHT Performance Type R had Darton Sleeves, so I would say if you're going for 400+ to sleeve the block. Also, what kind of truck do you have that requires 400hp to keep up with it in a civic? I've got a little under 200whp and I've taken every V8 truck I've raced from a roll. I've taken all of them from a dig, except the Silverado SS, it just takes longer to pass them.

You don't have an SRT10 do you?

well, i have a turbo charged tahoe. and it stomps the b16a in my car like its a bone stock d series. its awd auto with a 3000rpm stall. best time to date was 13.87. that was with 10* timing and before the meth injection, 4" turbo back exhaust and way better tune. here is a little exhaust vid i did.

Thats bad ***. I would say you would probably need less than 400+ wheel to take a high 13 second truck though. 350 would put you well into the 13s if you can drive (I'm assuming you can).

I have no clue what sleeves go for, I dont really see anyone running 12s without them using forced induction.

There is an NA k20 civic here in Tampa running 11s at roughly 380 wheel on the bottle.

k20 would be fun but i don't have that much money. i have to get a dent repair where the wife backed into a truck. and i have to get a new rear bumper. the poor car has been put on the back burner for a looong time so its time to do and redo alot of things to it.
