Old school pinned block?
My question is, i have an old school pinned block (before we had sleeves), now i want to run that block with some forged internals to keep cost down on my build up, i have read that most any higher hp then 350 on the street is hard to manage, unusable, i was wanting to know if i had the block hottanked would it take off the sealer they used around the pins going through the blockand if so can golden eagle or another company put more sealer on it, also this block is a 95 b18c do you think the sleeves are brittle it hasnt been used in a long time maybe like 6 years, and possibly run a block guard as well, and it will need an over bore because of some rust inside the sleeves i was thinking 81.5 just to get the walls nice'n clean, or should i use the b18c out of my gsr and use forged internals on it, i dont really have the money to get new sleeves and bore, im trying to be cost effeciant for what need, i am looking for what can be used im not into the see who can make the most hp on ht i just want a decent reliable qucik car, and i also plan to port and extra si head i have from a 00 si, any recomendations would be great especially from golden eagle mfg.

Re: Old school pinned block? (someday)
use the gsr motor..dont even mess the the pinned block....if 350 whp is you goal a stock gsr motor will make that with a good tune!!!! splat some forged pistons and a nice set of rods in it and you will have a little more room to play with the whp level because you will all want more boost after you drive it for a while!!!my 2 cents have had several 400+ hp civics..
