Default When down shifting and pressing in the clutch, rpms stay high....loose throttle cable? no codes bein

When I am rolling to a stop I will down shift then if i keep my foot on the clutch, the rpm's will stay at about 2.5 rpm. If i blip the throttle the rpm's will drop all the way down to the stock idle, my question is, do you think thise could be play on the throttle cable, I have a 1997 dx with ex head and am using the long dx cable, can this be play? The ecu isnt throwing any codes. Thanks guys.

Normal to an extent.... RPM's stay high for accesory systems power.... I.E.. you have to slam on the breaks, something like that.... you can always get a Ultralite flywheel to drop them sooner.

If your feathering the clutch your RPMs will be staying up, if you really want them to drop just hit it in neutral.

im not really feathering the clutch, for example, i will hit teh clutch and the rpms will stay where they are when the clutch isnt depressed, then when i blip the throttle it will fall, hmmmmmm
