Default Wheel Bearing???

A little while ago my steering wheel was shaking when I braked and I found out my wheel bearing had gone bad when I was getting my alignment done. I replace the bearing and replaced all my brake rotors & pads. Shaking gone. I heard some squeeking on the wheel I changed the wheel bearing and the noise was coming from my dust shield but I check to see if I could move my wheel and there is a little play in it.
How much play/movement is safe with the wheel bearings. My other side has no play/movement and I think it may be the spindle assembly I got from the junkyard is bad. What could be causing my brand new bearing to go bad. Any suggestions/help is greatly appreciated.

There should be no play in the wheels bearings. Check to see that the ball joints are good.
