Default What is wrong with my shift forks? **video**

The video is inside my gsr tranny.
I have never ran this, I bought it a yr ago and just am getting around to finishing everything for the swap.

I have someone immitating the lever, as if to shift into different gears.
You can see that things are hanging up.
It looks like all the forks are VERY loose, namely 1st/2nd and 3rd/4th, to the point where they are in the way of the changer (or whatever its actually called).
Notice how everything hangs up, until I move the forks, closer to the shafts. When I move them, it seems to work better, however, both 1st/2nd and 3rd/4th have to be moved in order to get it back into neutral position.
Plus, 5th/Reverse seems to be a little off as well....

I dont believe the fork shafts are bent, they just seem extremely loose in their holes....

They look fine, but you can measure the fork thickness and synchro sleeve clearance while it is apart. The difficulty shifting is because you do not have the transmission housing and detent ***** to properly align the forks.

Yeah, they should have a good bit of play in them. About an inch to each side of movement, until you put the casing back together.
