most people are gonna say it is the perfect time to upgrader to a ls or gsr or b20 block. it all depends on what you want and your budget!!!!

Re: what would you do if (madlion)
this problem needs to be solved.... i need no headaches. should i rebuild the block?should i get another short block.. if i get a b18c can i keep my ecu.. my mechanic hates the vafc i got a lecture today by him telling me its shitty. i had it dyno tuned at abacus in virginia. could this have caused the problem/?? i still think its the overrevving. it was making a rattle up top in higher rpms. i thought it was an exhaust leak of some sort. so i had it put on the lift then the guy just beat the hell out of the engine then it started to knock my mechanic said the knock was coming from the block. it knocks when you first start it. then it goesaway then at 3k it starts to knock again

hey thats exactly what mine does....you prob jsut had to adjust your valves. i would look for an ls or gsr shortblock and ditch the vafc for sure, they are shitty

before you do anything. You need to figue out what is wrong with the motor first.
It could be the valves out of spec. Have you check on them yet?

yeah its def the block. one of the pistons is hitting something. i was hopping it was a valve issue too... i was praying for it to be a valve issue.

Re: what would you do if (madlion)
like i said before
you need to figue out whats going on with the motor
pull the head off and inspect it
if you dont see anything wrong there
pull the oil pan out and check the bearings/rod
theres no point on getting the b18c block if the head is damaged
