What Would A Muffler Sound On Stock Piping?
I was just wondering, what would an aftermarket muffler sound with stock piping? Any inputs would be greatly appreciated...
I was thinking of going with a Magnaflow 14829, what do you guys think? What should a custom cat back run me, approximately?

stock civic piping?
Dont waste your time/money. You wont gain anything.
If you want to have an idea of how it'll sound just pull your stock one off...it'll be similar, maybe a bit louder than what you have pictured.

I've heard some civics sounding very nice with stock piping and aftermarket exhaust. custom cat back all depends on who is doing it

Really depends on what muffler you get, I've seen quite a few that sound pretty nice.
It will sound nothing like just taking the stock one off.

I thought if you had a ex they have a larger pipe than other models? I know when I switched mine it seemed like they were the same size or really close.

Well ... I had a local exhaust shop do 2.25 cat back piping for me w/ a 5zigen fireball & they did it for around 180 ... Pretty good job ... I noticed a little bit better gain and throttle response and i'm happy with the turn out over all so you should definitely just have the cat back piping done
Oh & to answer your question , a muffler on stock piping sounds like *** (I have a friend with an accord who did it)

i have that exact muffler......i got a muffler shop to do some custom 2.25" piping and i added a resonator on there... and it sounds nice... deep and a little louder then stock... not crazy loud or raspy at all.... overall a very nice sound and you still get a slight... i mean slight gain in performance

i have the same thing on stock piping and i think its too loud but it does sound alright(nto too raspy. im sure with 2.25 piping and a long resonator it ill sound alot better and quieter. im thinking about going back to stock until i do full cat back bc its just too loud for me and the interior noise is kinda of anoying.
