sounds like your head isn't getting oil for a few secs, does it do that for five seconds regardless if it was on or not? Does it only do it on startup?

there is ALLOT of history behind this motor. It has a brand new head in it. Every thing is very well lubed up too. I know a guy that said his belt made the same noise once, he said it was weathered. Well the belt thats on the alternator right now was setting in the rain for about o 6 months, so i am going to check that too.

I would say the alternator, I didn't think about that until just now, your charge light is on, you have probably fried a diode in there. It stays on, blinks, then the CEL comes on with it as it blinks, I believe the sound dies off because the regulator cuts current to practically zero to protect the PCM. And yes, failed diodes can be rather loud, chevy malibu's are the loudest that I've ever heard when they blow.
