I use 6700W 10000W. LOL 5W 30W will do fine. Dont mess with that synthetic **** tho, it's a scam. If you do use syn tho, only have to change it every 10,000 miles. Not every 3,000 where synthetic oil will cost you $300 per month for new oil.

WTF are you talking about? Synthetic is NOT a scam, read more before you post **** like that. I'm not going to bother digging up the pages and pages of material that's been covered before, but on a molecular level, synthetic is better. Is it necessary ? No. Should you change it more often than 10,000 miles? Probably, though that's been open to debate for years. And if you were to spend $300/month on oil, you'd have to be driving A LOT. $5/quart, 5 quarts per oil change means $25 per 3000 miles. If you can't figure that math out, that means that $300 in oil would be 36,000 miles. If you're doing that every month, that's just ridiculous.

Now, to the original poster, 10W30 or 5W30 would be fine. Somewhere under your hood and/or in your owner's manual there is a Honda-specified oil weight. If you don't know what you're doing, just stick to that. And if you have a D-series engine, regardless of if synthetic is better or not, sticking with regular or semi-synthetic instead of full synthetic will save you some money and won't be detrimental to your engine.

Use either 5w 30 or 10w 30 depending on your climate

I know it's not that expensive. But the only difference i've ever seen in syntheic oil is it doesnt degrade nearly as fast. It doesnt flow much differently than the opposing regular oil weight. The performance difference is not noticable. It may be proper for engines with 100k plus miles. I've used it for 2 oil changes and decided to quit wasting my money. Synthetic oil is rated for a certain milage. I recommend changing regular oil every 3k miles. Thanks for the flame, Emo... chill out

That degradation factor is the key, not that synthetic oil will free up horsepower or something. It's meant to be superior lubrication for the engine, to reduce friction and extend life, etc. etc. etc. However, as I said before, it's unnecessary for a lot of applications. My relatively stock B18B with XX,XXX miles isn't anything super special, so I just use semi-synthetic and save a few bucks here and there. However, if it was a racecar, or a built engine, you bet I'd be using the good stuff.

yeah, and i totally agree with you. I would stick it in my car unless my car only experienced spirited driving. But i cant afford to do that.

I use regular Pennzoil 10w30. Dino oil. Change every 3,000 miles. Runs like a champ, no oil leaks, no burning, NOTHING.
