I was questioning what oil I should use for my car 97civ ex with 77,000 miles. Should I use synthetic or a 10-30. ANd is it true that if i goto synthetic i cant go back to regualr oil? Any input would be appreciated.. Thanks

it really depends on how you drive. If you drive really hard all the time. Synthetic would be your best bet. But just for normal driving and seldom spirited driving then 5w30 is best as long as you change your oil at 3000 miles. There's nothing wrong with going syn then go back to regular.

Use 5w30. Make sure you go from regular oil -> syn blend - full syn if you plan on going to full synthetic.

HTH.
