is 3000 to early
That's way too late. I am using regular Castrol GTX 10w30 and I change my oil every 1000 miles or so. If your using synthetic oil you could wait longer between oil changes though. Just do a little searching man.

why not just use synth? isnt it a pita to change it every 3 weeks?

I use valvoline non synthetic and change it every 3K. 10W40. I don't see any reason to change your oil every 1000 miles, that's every two weeks or less for me.
Coupon: If you can afford it, there arn't any downfalls to changing your oil "too early". 3000 miles is the recommended change interval for pretty much any car made, so that's what I'd do.

I don't drive that many miles everyday, so I don't really change it that often. I will usually just change it before I go to the track or street racing if it has been a while. Plus I have s shitty t3 turbo that I don't care about on a stock motor. When I get a ball bearing turbo and a built motor then I will run synthetic.

yeah true, but how long would be the longest to wait while still really getting the full use out of it

there is no such thing as too early. Basically your oil is dirty after you start the car the 1st time. Depends how hard you drive it....but I wouldn't wait for 1 mile over 3000.
