I need a daily driver and I'm looking at a 92 civic hatchback. I have never bought a used car before. Is 150k miles too many? How many miles is too much. How many miles will the civic last 200k, 250k? I want the civic to be my daily driver I travel 400 miles a week, mostly highway driving. Is $3000 a good price for a used civic?

i've seen Honda's last up to 500,000+ miles.

$3,000 for a Civic? well, that all depends on the condition of the car (mechanically and cosmetically). what kind of title (clean or salvage) the car has matters too.

you can probably find Civic's for cheaper. maybe $2,000-$2,500.

It's a Honda! Honda's last a long time, but if it was abused by the previous owner(s) than who knows.

Is this at a dealership or private party? I would suggest doing a carfax on the car just to make sure it has a clear title and to see how many owners the car has had.

Check for rust.

400 miles a week is not that much.. if you did the math thats like 60 miles per day... 30 miles each way........ i would suggest getting a VX or a CX hatch since gas is going up like crazy and you travel 400 miles per week..
