i have a 2000 civic ex im supposed to get a b16 from a 95 si so i think is a obd1 and my car is a obd2 is it a lot of mods that i have to 2 to complete the swap is it hard? thanx for the replies ke viva honda

you need mounts, linkage, ecu, oil pump w/ crank sensor in it, wiring should be minimal..if you plan on keeping ac and ps you will need new mounts for them...i think thats it...please add if im missing something or incorrect

if the motor is OBD1...you gonna need a OBD2 dizzy

i thought you can repin the obd1 to work..i know you can make obd2 work on obd1..

The '95 civics were all D series and I'm pretty sure the del sol Si sported a D16Z6.

Though there were B16's (JDM) in the 92-95 series plus one of the del sols (usdm) had them. Just wondering what car it was out of.

Anyways.

The motor'll straight drop in. You're sporting an EX so the harness is fine. Gonna have to run an OBD-IIB &gt; OBD-I conversion harness to sport the OBD-I ECU. I'm not sure if the dizzy has to be changed as you'll be using an EX '00 Harness, but B16 OBD-I bolt location. It's might just be a deal of re-wiring the plug at the end since it's still gonna be OBD-I controlled.

With that motor of course, B series axles & tranny since neither will work from D-series.

I'm just wonderin about the legality of it.

Might wanna check the emissions standards in your state.

I'll tell ya one thing you couldn't pull that **** in CA as it's illegal to drop an older motor in a new chassis (I'm pretty sure) and I know for a fact you can't pull that **** in NY b/c it's a 2000 therefore needs to be OBD-II tested - which it'll have a hard time doing with no port and an OBD-I ECU.

So you might wanna look into that first...

if you have emissions in ny you would be better off getting a DOHC SI ecu....as the reader can read a obd1 ecu....

and you will need a b series distributor...
