thanks.
well even if its hot or cold outside it still makes that sound. sometimes even when im running or slowly going up an incline while punching on the gas. what could it be? anyone?
EDIT: will adjust valve clearance to see if anything happens. hpe it gets solved.

Re: (el_toro_de_magnifico)
My 99 EX does the same thing all year long warm or cold. However, it gets worse when the temperatures drop outside and it it sits for a few hours. (E.G. overnight) Once the car warms up and it's actually driven, the sound goes away 98 percent of the time. There is that 2 percent that it does it all the time but honestly, I have not seen any side effects from this. I took my valve cover off and there's no damage or anything like that. Just annoying really. Oh and I almost forgot, I run fully synthetic 5w30 in the car and it does it with that weight and it did it with 10w30 so personally I wouldn't worry.

Yes, I'd try that first. Make sure the engine is completely cold before doing the adjustment.
Also make sure you're running the proper oil.
