What lube to use?
I have come to the conclusion by searching a problem I have that I need to lube up my slave cylinder. A few questions: What all types of greases(lubes) whatever should I use, and which types should I stay away from. How far do I peel back the boot? My dad brought some type of grease home from his work, it is a thick gunky kinda type grease, some type of high heat moly and lithium grease. Yet it may be hard to put way back in the boot since the only way to apply the thick stuff is with your finger? Thanks.

I would use some kind of synthetic grease, like sil-glide or brake grease.
you shouldnt need much and the only points you will need is outside of the slave cylinder, where it touches the fork, inside dont lube it since there is a seal like a wheel cylinder and its not designed to be lubed other then the fluid from the clutch master cylinder.

Ahh... I think I have the same problem you have... I will be doing this soon as well.
Don't use your finger in the grease... use an old toothbrush. This works for me

That sounds like wheel/axle grease. Im sure its suitable for brakes. A grease gun is the easiest way to lube using grease tubes with the pointy end, or get a pneumatic gun with a universal lube fitting, that would work too under the boot.

YOU DONT LUBE THE SLAVE CYLINDER PERIOD> if it leaks then you need a new one.

??? It doesnt leak but how do I go about doing what everyone else is doing because my clutch squeaks and moans and I want to try lubing up the slave cylinder like I have read around these boards because it might be a fix. Or is it he clutch fork?outside of the slave cylinder, where it touches the fork. <<<Where is that at?
