Yeah, the head needs to be rebuilt.
Non-interference engines are engines that when the piston is up all the way (TDC) and the valve is open all the way, they do not touch. If the timing belt breaks a non-interference engine nothing happens...just set it to TDC and put a new belt on.
Interference engines are the opposite, practically, the valve extends to a point in the cylinder that the piston also occupies - just at different times. So when you snap the timing belt, it bashes the valves, the head is done for, usually.
Honda engines are interference - if your timing belt snapped, the head is owned. The damage IS really bad and I wouldn't even bother rebuilding a B7 head - just replace it.
Actually you're in a perfect position to do a mini-me swap. Put a Z6 head on it, wire up VTEC, and basically bolt on 20hp.

Well, in the US, Honda isn't Acura, and the '92 LX doesn't have an LS motor.
