adjusting my d16y8 idle does nothing?
my car is a d16y8 with about 140k miles on it... when i turn the screw to adjust the idle, it does not change at all... i can unscrew it almost all the way out and it doesn't budge... same for when i screw it all the way in... my idle is too low... sits around 400-500rpms... it's pretty smooth, until my fan kicks on and it drops to like 200 and it sounds like its straining and it vibrates a lot, and its annoying... i want an idle around 6-700, that'll kick down to about 500 when the fan comes on... any suggestions?

Get the repair manual and adjust it correctly. Actually, you rarely, if ever, adjust the idle screw. They're usually epoxied in.
The ecu is compensating and that's why it isn't making a difference. You need to put the ecu into diagnostic mode.
But you really should look for the problem elsewhere. Clean your IACV, tb and intake manifold with carb cleaner and seafoam. Make sure your IACV is functioning. Check your ignition timing.
