p28. but get a chip for b16 base map. stock p28 has a 7500rpm limit. chip it tell them that make it to take out the knock sensor and change your redline to 8000 or so and take out the speed limiter. you can buy those on ebay. yes i said ebay. not it wont blow up your car. iv bought 2 and they work fine

Yup rock a p28 or a obd1 p72. That way you can tune it and done need a obd1-to-obd2 jumper harness

What is the speed limiter set on with a stock b16a2 ecu from the 99-00si?

I'm using a P30 (del Sol VTEC) with my B16A2, everything is converted to OBD1...it's also chipped btw. Although, these ECU's are somewhat rare. Most people use P28's because they are extremely common.

If you're gonna stick with OBD2, why not just use the P2T? Or do you plan to go OBD1?

Nope shoudnt need one, I'm prett sure that the engine harnesses are the same. I'm actually planning on running an obd1 engine harness on 1998 dc2. Someone correct me if I'm wrong

You will need a 96-99 Gs-r engine harness to put on your obd2 b16 that will make it plug and play at the shock tower gang plugs (can't use 99-00 engine harness in eg period). As for the ecu get an oem p30 (usdm or jdm). If for some reason you can't find a p30 use a p28 that was chipped for a stock b16.

you are right for the most part 92-95 civic and 94-01 Integra harnesses can be interchanged. however 96-00 civic engine harnesses cannot be used in a 92-95 civic or 94-01 Integra

p28 or p72. Both will have to be socketed and chipped for a tune, but the GSR (p72) is a plug and play till then. YOu could prolly even go with a obd1 B16 del sol ecu and be good to go

Well, if it were me, I'd get the ECU that was originally for your engine; the P30. You can socket them and tune them just like the P72/P28. However, if you decide to run it "as is" for a while, you have a well engineered basemap by this famous OEM place called Honda. See, they designed the map in the P30 to be used on the B16 so it's set up to make good power and make the engine last a long time.

To me, you are going to spend the same on a P72 as you would a P30, so why would you want to get the wrong ECU for the application???

P30
