They up the compression ratio of your coolant and it gives you 20 more horse power... because the flow is faster and more cool.... those APC ones GIVE YOU 25!!!! WOW... Best 20 bucks I ever spent

would changes the caps like i did cause one of the coolant lines to bust a little hole in it? because of the pressure change?

by putting higher compression cap on the radiator it ups the pressure in your coolant system which could cause you to blow a hole in a worn out hose or with good hoses and a bad overheating problem could cause you to blow a hole in your radiator or worse. imo its better to have a lower compression cap if you HAVE to change from the stock compression cap because its better to blow off your cap and make a mess than to blow a hole in something.

Re: what do different radiator caps do? (93hb)
well, a little hole was blown in on of the small coolant lines. i'm thinking becuase the pressure is higher now cause i changed caps. i'm getting a gsr radiator now in which it should be better cause i have a dx hatch with a b18 swap. i think my radiator has about had it too. i will go back to a lower compression cap also.
