What did i ruin??? Shocked the hell out of myself and car wont start.
Here is the story. My civic isnt getting spark, im putting a new dist and main relay in it today. Well, while i was testing everything on my civic, i wanted to see how much voltage comes out of one of the spark plug holes on teh cap. So, i went to my 1990 honda accord, took my test meter.. put one end to ground, and stuck the other end directly into the the spark plug wire hole on the cap. I then had my wife crank the car so i could measure the spark... Well, it shocked the **** out of me and we all had a laugh.. ahaha NOw the car just crank and cranks and will not start. I am getting no spark..... I am getting fuel...
what did i short out???? besides my ***.

You need to be careful doing things like that cause depending on your health getting shocked like that can kill you.
Open up the dist and take a look at your ignition coil and your ignitor im thinking one of those is fried.

Yeah you blew the new dizzy. NEVER crank a car unless the plugs are hooked up or the plug wires are gounded. The voltage ranges from 11,000 to 50,000 volts. Current's too low to really hurt you though. I mean it hurts but, not visit the hospital hurts.
By running the dizzy with no wires hooked up, the coil delivered max voltage it can and that often pops something.
