Default What AC compressors work with a B18B bottom end?

Trying to add AC back to my hatch, I have everything except an AC compressor.

I went digging through the just yard and as you would expect any thing with a DOHC motor has been pulled. Will a D series compressor bolt up or do I have stick with a B series compressor?

Thanks for the help!

It depends on what AC system was in the car to begin with. If you are using the B-series lines, you will need A b-series compressor and bracket . If you are keeping your existing lines and using a D-series setup, you need both the D-series bracket (From either Del Sol VTEC or Pj7 CRV) and a D-series compressor.

Damn I have all the D Series stuff. I found an 97 EX in the junk yard I took the lines from, should I go back and snag the compressor and search for a CRV to get the bracket??

Yes, you can use all of the Civic a/c components as long as you swap the compressor bracket to P54 or PJ7.

Could be tough to find a junk yard. I think I got mine used in the marketplace here.

Awesome I hope it will still be there in when I get back and no dirt got into it as I took the lines haha. It oddly still had the head and everything I assumed it would been snatched up quickly.

It was still on the car with the belt on it too.

the 97 CRV P7J bracket is about half the cost or less than the P54 from the del sol and you can get from honda pretty easy.

using either the P54 or the P7J you can use all the stock d series AC components

38930-P7J-000 CRV $81

38930-P54-000 del sol $137

Go junkyard hopping, the crv bracket is less than that.

I found a B series compressor locally and sure enough it didn't fit the lines so back to the drawing board. I guess I need to get my butt out in the heat of South FL and bake in the junkyards for a bit.
