Why don't you start by saying what engine you have...

BTW... you, like everyone else on this board should have a Helms manual for your car.

Start thumbing through the coolant section. At the beginning there's a table of contents for each section. I *THINK* it's near the thermostat, but agian, I seem to remember that from somewhere and am not very sure about that at all.

It's on the passenger side of the head. I can't remember where (and I"m too lazy to go look). Just pull the connectors off everything. It's the one that screws directly into the side of the head and does NOT have a plastic connector. It's got a thin tip on it.

What kind of gauge do you have, just wondering because if you hook the autometer gauges up that way, the temp will be off.

well i have a gsr, but im pretty sure most of the coolant system is the same, anyways when i pulled out #10 as stated above, the sensor had oil on it, not coolant, so its not a water temp guage, now i could be completely off here and they could be different on the civics, but i bet they are the same, what i found to be the water temp guage on the integra, was whats labeled as #11, im having problems hooking up my sensor too, so if im totally wrong someone correct me

# 10 is the temperature sender for the gauge. If it has oil on it , you have a problem. #11 is the fan switch.

well i dont see how i could have problem, as i just changed my coolant, and there was no sign of oil in it, and its running better than good, with oil in my coolant passages, i dont think it would run that well i just think its possible that that sensor is the oil temp sending unit and not the coolant sending unit, and on top of that, number 11 which you guys said was just the fan cut on switch, when unplugged renders the guage cluster useless, so i think either theres another sensor somewhere, or that is it, but yes it would make sense for number 10 to be the sending unit, bc it is near where the coolant leaves the head, which is the temperature you would want to know...well im gonna have to do some more investigating
