Warming up question
this morning and the past mornings i have noticed my civic hasnt really been warming up today it ran for 30 min and moved the temp needle from the C to the first line but as soon as i drive or give it gas it gets warm but i dont think warm enough could it be my O2 sensor

your car will never warm up to operating temp on idle alone, start it up, let it run for 30 seconds or so, then drive it keeping rpm under 3000 and dont go into overdrive until your temp gauge starts moving

yeah i live in Ny and it was -5 this morning, i started my car 25min before i had to leave for school... it was still chilly in there so i just drove in 2nd all the way to school ... as soon as i kept it around 3500-4000rpm for a little bit the temp gauge went up.

I personally dont ever warm up my car, except on cold *** mournings when its nice to jump in a warm car. I just let it for for 30sec or so to get oil circulating then off i go. I sometimes let my moms car sit for 10-15 min on, drive it for another 5-10 min and the needle wil barely move. Hows your coolant/water mixture? How olds your thermostat?
